In the MAHE the history of Elche can be found from the origins of the city to the present. The museum is equipped with audiovisual shows and touch screens to make the visit even more interesting.
The first room contains pieces from the period from 4.000 BC to late antiquity such as sculptures of bulls and sphinxes and painted ceramics. The second room contains pieces from the 13th century to the present.
The tour ends in the Altamira Palace. The MAHE and the Altamira Palace cannot be visited separately.
The Altamira Palace is a castle that was built in the late 15th century. It belonged to the Counts of Altamira.
