L'alcudia is a site of the Ibero-Roman era. It is an excavation of dwellings, fortress walls, mosaic floors and ruins of Roman buildings with baths and archaeological pieces. The excavations have been partially restored and are accessible to visitors. The famous lady of Elche (see photo) was found on this site in August 1897.
There is a visitor center with a showroom and a room with an audiovisual presentation of L'alcudia. The Fundacio L'Alcudia also has its own page on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/user/fundacionalcudia
L'Alcudia is not easy to find, there are no direction indicators. It is located at km 2 along the road from Elche to Dolores (CV-855).
