Teatro Romano

In the place where the Roman theater can now be found, a residential area was built in the 19th century. It was only from the end of the 1980s that people started to demolish those old houses and uncover the historic site.

The theater was built in the first century BC and had a capacity of no less than 6.000 people.

The Roman theater can only be visited in combination with the accompanying museum. Do not look for the entrance just next to the theater but a block away, directly opposite the Palacio Consistorial on the Plaza Ayuntamiento.
