Murales San Isidro

In 1976 a group of people from Orihuela and the surrounding area wanted to do something to pay tribute to the deceased poet Miguel Hernandez. They decided to paint the walls in the San Isidro district. Artists from all over Spain contributed to this.
The modest neighborhood of San Isidro has since turned into a neighborhood full of color. In several streets you can now see one mural next to the other. In total there are many dozens, making this neighborhood a sort of open-air museum.
